If I am at a client, that client is owed my full attention, and other clients will not be allowed to intrude upon that time. In turn, everyone gets the full value for their money. It is not my intent to create a draconian policy, but a sincere effort to ensure that the person paying for my time does not find it diluted by other business. Fair is fair. Voicemail was dropped in September, 2005. There were too many instances where people left a message, only to have it show up many hours or even days later. This gave the impression I was ignoring people, which I has not. I have not found voice messaging to be crucial, or even that useful. Voicemail can be left at my house, but that is usually only checked occasionally. Calls to my home number need to be limited to true off-air emergencies, especially between 10pm and 7am. There will be times such as vacations and business trips where I will be unavailable. Again, I will make a good faith effort to be available by cell phone during these times. What I cannot do is make any ironclad guarantee that I will be available by phone at all times.
